MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate. 
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license. 
  • DPSST Basic Certificate upon hire or within the probationary period.

TO BE CONSIDERED:

  3. Pass the NTN Frontline Test within the past 12 months.
  4. Pass the ORPAT test (5:30 time or better).

Candidates who provide all the items listed above AND pass a preliminary background check will be placed on our eligibility list. Once the interview process has begun, those candidates will be invited to participate. Madras PD may choose to close this recruitment at any point if enough qualified candidates have been received and placed on our eligibility list, as determined by the Chief of Police and/or the HR Director. 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

The City of Madras offers full testing services for the position of Entry Level Police Officer through National Testing Network (NTN).

To register with NTN and schedule a test, visit www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select ‘Find Jobs’, then select Law Enforcement Jobs and sign up for the City of Madras.

Once you're on the NTN site:

  • Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test.
  • Review all information related to the City of Madras - Entry Level Police Officer, including minimum requirements, salary, and benefits.
  • Review detailed information about the testing process.
  • Review Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test (if desired).

Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to the City of Madras.

NTN is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. NTN does not replace the City of Madras’ responsibility and decision making in the testing process.  All candidate results are provided to the City of Madras where the final decisions are made.


PAY AND BENEFITS:

  • Starting pay as of February 1, 2024 is $61,907.78/annually. COLA increase July 1, 2024.

    • 1 year = 5 days
    • 2 year = 15 days
