Public Works Projects

There are many projects going on in the City at any given time. Staff will try to keep this page updated as they have capacity. 

Juniper Hills Trail to Madras East Trail Connection Project: 

This project consists of the installation of approximately 900 linear feet of paved multiuse path 10' wide to connect Juniper Hills Park to Madras East Trails.  This project will also include constructing curb ramps, a crosswalk, and pedestrian lighting where it crosses Ashwood Road.  K3 Construction will be the primary contractor on this project slated for spring/summer of 2022.

Safe Routes to School Project: 7th Street between "B" and "D" Streets:

The City of Madras was awarded grant funding from the ODOT Safe Routes to School Construction Grant Program for an infrastructure project on 7th Street between “B” and “D” Streets along Sahalee Park to replace sidewalks, add ADA ramps, install new curbing, drainage, and paving. Total project cost is $375,000 utilizing $300,000 in ODOT grant funding. The project is scheduled to begin late spring 2022 and will greatly increase safe walking and biking routes for students and all members of the community. 

MADRAS AIRPORT
  • Master Plan Update:  

           The City of Madras is updating the Airport Master Plan for more information go to www.centurywest.com/madras-airport-master-plan/

  • WWII Hangar Window Replacement:

           The City received some grant funding through Preserving Oregon to replace the windows on the south side of the WWII North Hangar.

  • New Helipad:

           The City received some grant funding through COAR to construct a designated pad for helicopter operations at the airport.
